Pricing
How we price a rewire
A wall is priced from what is in it. Here is what moves the price, and when you see the number.
What decides the price
No two walls are alike. These move it most.
Plaster over brick, or lath on studs
How far each room is from the attic or the basement
The number of circuits the plan needs
Whether the panel or the service has to change
How much patching the plan includes
What the plan includes
Written, room by room. It lists the cable, the boxes, the labor and every patch.
The city permit fee, passed through at cost
Both inspections
A labeled panel and a circuit record
What it doesn't
Some things are priced on their own line, so you can see what each adds.
Painting and wallpaper
Utility fees, if the service changes
Anything the walls turn up that the survey couldn't see
The survey visit
The survey is a paid visit, and its fee is credited to the job if you book within 30 days. We walk every room, open a few boxes and write the plan.
What you pay when
A deposit when you book, then payments as the work reaches each floor. The balance is due when the final inspection is done. We take checks and cards.
When you get the number
Before work starts, in writing, as one price for the plan. A change after that is agreed in writing before we do it.
After hours
Planned work only
We do planned work on weekdays and take no emergency work. If something is wrong tonight, here is what to do.
When to act now
Burning smell, sparks, or a hot or scorched outlet or panel: if it is safe, turn off the breaker, and call 911 for a fire
Water near wiring: stay out of the room, and turn off the power only if you can reach the panel dry
A shock from a switch or outlet: stop using it and call us in the morning

Get the number in writing
The survey comes first. The price follows it.
